Adaptive Image Enhancer: BU1570KN

ROHM’s BU1570KN Adaptive Image Enhancer (AIE) IC is used to correct images, adjusting both the color and brightness adaptively in real time. The AIE algorithm core consists of three blocks: brightness determination, image enhancement and color correction. It also features a motion alarm/watchdog function that divides images into 64 areas and sends an interrupt signal to the CPU once motion is detected. When combined with BU1569GVW featuring MIDI playback, it is possible to configure applications with audio capability for enhanced functionality.

This product can be used to correct images as well as video in both portable and general consumer electronic devices.

All ROHM products are both lead-free and RoHS compliant.

ROHM's KD2003-DG10A and KD2003-DF10A thick-film thermal printheads utilize an original heat element glaze structure for increased energy resistance and integrate high-density driver ICs, enabling high-speed (250mm/s) high-quality printing. In addition, the units feature a wide logic voltage range (3.3V-5.25V), making them resistant to voltage fluctuations, and are available in only one resistance rank (650Oħ3%), simplifying circuit design. They are compatible with both thermal and thermal transfer printing.

Low Current Single Mode Dual Wavelength Laser Diode: RLD2WMUV2

ROHM’s RLD2WMUV2 single mode dual wavelength laser diode features excellent low current characteristics [785nm:18mA (Tc=25ºC); 655nm:20mA (Tc=25ºC)], making it ideal for DVD players.

BP5222A Constant Current DC LED Driver

ROHM's BP5222A LED driver features a wide DC input voltage range (15V-38V), an output voltage of 12V, and a high power conversion efficiency (90% at VIN=20V). In addition, constant current drive capability (350mA when R1=3.68) makes it possible to easily drive power LEDs using just a few external components.

ROHM also offers the BP5220A and BP5221A DC/DC converters with an input voltage range of 8V-38V, an output voltage of 5V, and a conversion efficiency of approximately 85% (VIN=15V), ensuring suitability with power supplies of all types, including copiers, PCs, fax machines, and security/industrial equipment.

The series is both lead-free and RoHS compliant.

BHxxRB1WGUT: Ultra-compact CMOS LDO Regulator with 150mA output current with extremely low dropout voltage

The newest edition to ROHM’s CMOS LDO regulator lineup is the ultra-compact BHxxRB1WGUT series featuring an output current of 150mA, high output voltage accuracy (±1%), a low drop out voltage of 100mV (at Io=100mA), and consumption currents of 34µA and 0µA during operation and standby, respectively. High ESD resistance (5kV) combined with built-in overcurrent and thermal protection circuits ensure a high degree of reliability in any environment. This series is offered in an ultra-compact 4-pin CSP package (VCSP60N1) possessing high heat radiation characteristics (540mW) and are available in a number of different output voltages (1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 2.9V, 3.0V, 3.1V and 3.3V), making them ideally suited for use in portable applications.

KTR10 & KTR18: High-voltage Thick Film Chip Resistors

ROHM’s KTR series (KTR10 and KTR18) chip resistors utilize a proprietary structure and trimming process in order to deliver the world’s highest voltage resistance – more than double that of conventional products – allowing only one resistor to be used in high voltage circuits normally requiring multiple resistors, resulting in increased space savings.

KTR10 (0805 size) and KTR18 (1206 size) feature a rated power of 1/8W and 1/4W and a limiting element voltage of 300V and 400V, respectively. Resistance tolerances of ±1% and ±5% are available for both products.

All ROHM products are both lead-free and RoHS-compliant.

Applications: Camera flash circuits, display backlight inverters and other high voltage applications

World’s Smallest One-chip Hall IC Solution for Detection and Connection: BU52000 Series

ROHM has recently completed development of the BU52000 series, the world's smallest Hall IC that integrates magnetic detection and connection circuits onto a single chip.

Advancements in mobile phone functionality often necessitate larger LCD screens, leading to an increase in the popularity of folding-type phones. The BU52000 series eliminates the need for mechanical switches, which are conventionally used to detect the opening and closing of mobile phones, by utilizing a silicon-based Hall effect element, resulting in greater reliability, lower power consumption, and increased design flexibility.

The BU52000 series ICs are available in the VCSP50L1 chip scale package (CSP) type, making it the world’s smallest in its class. The required mounting area is 1/3 to 1/4 that of conventional models, contributing to increased space reduction. Both monopole and dipole detection types are offered.

ROHM’s Audio System LSIs: BU9432-C1 and BU9434-C2

ROHM’s BU9432-C1 and BU9434-C2 audio system LSIs integrate a USB 2.0 full-speed host controller, a 3-channel power supply, an MP3 decoder, a DAC, and a system controller into a single chip, allowing playback of MP3 files contained on flash memory via USB. In addition, the BU9432-C1 features a headphone amplifier while the BU9434-C2 incorporates an SD card interface controller, a sound effecter, and I2S/SPDIF interface support.
The BU9432-C1 and BU9434-C2 are offered in the TQFP64V and VQFP64 package types, respectively.

BU9432-C1 is currently in mass production while samples of BU9434-C2 will be available at the end of September with mass production to begin in December.

Flexible Step-down Switching Regulators feature high ESD resistance of 4kV and high efficiency of 90%

ROHM’s BD9778F/HFP flexible step-down switching regulators incorporate an oscillator and a DMOSFET that features a high voltage resistance (36V max), large current (2A max) and low ON-resistance (0.53O typ). The operating frequency is adjustable between 50 and 500kHz via external resistors in order to reduce switching noise in the AM (MW) signal band, while a standby current of 0µA contributes to increased energy savings. High reliability is ensured due to the wide operating temperature range (-40º to 125ºC), built-in overcurrent and thermal shutdown circuits, high ESD resistance (4kV) and integrated soft start function. The units, which are offered in the SOP8 (BD9778F) and HRP7 (BD9778HFP) packages, deliver a reference voltage accuracy of ±2%, operate at high efficiency (90%) and possess a wide input voltage range (5V-35V), making them ideally suited for use in a wide variety of applications.
