Position Summary
This position is responsible for the enterprise-wide installation, maintenance and upgrades of the network infrastructure and attached hardware and software and provides end-user technical support. Assists with the design and implementation of data backup strategies, and network related hardware and software migration. New projects, involved with the design of a new centrally back-up strategy and migration of Windows Vista Business and Office 2007 deployment and implementation.
Job Purpose
Support administrative customers, inside sales, outside sales representatives, marketing, warehouse and product engineering. Knowledge of commonly-used practices and procedures within the industry. Rely on pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities may include,
but are not limited to:
- Assists with the design and implementation of network related hardware/software migration strategies; administration of the Microsoft Exchange server; administration of the Microsoft Active Directory environment; administration of Group Policy Objects
- Administers the Network Associates McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (EPO); Microsoft Windows Server Update Services; ScriptLogic login script.
- Maintains VPN accounts and devices
- Maintains system tape backup and rotation through vendors on a daily and monthly schedule
- Supports end-users requests related to systems and applications
- Performs server maintenance through scheduled tests and review of event logs; corrects deficiencies or crashes as needed and performs upgrades as required
- Assists with the configuration, deployment and maintenance of routers, switches, VPNs, access points and firewall devices
- Research and advise department to determine best practices for Microsoft AD, specifically as they pertain to group policies, replication, security, GC/DC/FSMO considerations, etc.
- Assist with maintenance and administration of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, SQL Server 2000, WSUS servers
- Assist with file server and network infrastructure hardware and software installation, maintenance and upgrades
- Assist with creation and upkeep of network documentation, KPI statistics, and diagrams
- Provides support and maintains written resolutions to frequent problems as they relate to networks, hardware, software applications, and telecommunication systems in use by ROHM personnel
- Keep informed on new development, methods and techniques in the field of sales, semiconductors and other job related areas
- Domestic travel up to 20%
Qualifications/Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related major; or equivalent
- Three (3) years of related job experience; preferably, in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment
- Prefer MCSE, MCP or A+; CCIE or CCNP certifications
- Strong background in Windows 2000/2003 Server, Exchange 2003, SQL Server 2000 and Windows Terminal Services
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft concepts of Domain and Forest design, Organizational Unit planning, Site and Subnets, replication, DFS, DNS, LDAP, Global Catalog, Group Policy
- In-depth understanding of LAN topology, routers, hubs, switches, VPNs, firewalls and network protocols, including WAN and TCP/IP
- Routing protocols and configuration of MPLS, FRAME-RELAY and SNMP
- Manage multi-site network environments, including a demonstrated knowledge in network design, integration and management
- Manage and maintain DELL server and desktop hardware
- Process automation and scripting languages, such as ScriptLogic, VBScript
- Automated software distribution and management packages (e.g. Marimba, ZENworks, WinInstall, MOM or SMS)
- Adapt to rapid changes in order to support and use future technology
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form with employees, customers and management
- Prefer experience with Windows 2008, Windows Vista Business and Office 2007, and virtualization as deployed in an enterprise environment
- Familiarity with computer imaging and deployment technologies, such as Symantec Ghost or Microsoft RIS a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2006/2007 highly desired
- Detail oriented and results-driven; multitask and prioritize workload and determine priorities
- Work closely in a collaborative team environment
- Identify critical issues and recommend solutions to address concerns
- Exercise a reasonable degree of independent judgment under minimum supervision
- Demonstrated customer skills/experience
- Meet physical requirements
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
